I’m not raising money to cover my participation in this adventure, but I’d be very happy if you’d like to make a donation to a good cause in honor of it.
I love San Francisco Bay, it’s a marvel of nature and provides a whole host of recreational activities and many different wildlife habitats, while functioning as important thoroughfare for shipping. I’m just not myself if I don’t get to dunk myself in it or sail on it at least once a week. But if it hadn’t been for the 3 women who formed Save the Bay over fifty years ago, most of this beautiful waterway could have been filled in and paved over by now. Read more about Save the Bay and how you can help here.
A few years ago I lost my mother to cancer. She lived on the Glamorgan coast in South Wales, and traveling back there to be with her and the rest of my family for her final days was a wrenching experience. But I’ll never forget the wonderful palliative care she received at Y Bwthyn Newydd, and how it helped her and all of us. Just knowing that level of care would be there calmed my mother when she was at home after her diagnosis. I’ve chosen Help the Hospices for my charity, and I’d be very happy if any UK based blog followers would like to make a donation in honor of Barbara Lloyd, my mother, through my Just Giving page. Or please donate directly to:
